Two-point functions in AdS/dCFT and the boundary conformal bootstrap equations

چکیده
We calculate the leading contributions to the connected two-point functions of protected scalar operators in the defect version of N = 4 SYM theory which is dual to the D5-D3 probe-brane system with k units of background gauge field flux. This involves several types of two-point functions which are vanishing in the theory without the defect, such as two-point functions of operators of unequal conformal dimension. We furthermore exploit the operator product expansion (OPE) and the boundary operator expansion (BOE), which form the basis of the boundary conformal bootstrap equations, to extract conformal data both about the defect CFT and about N = 4 SYM theory without the defect. From the knowledge of the oneand two-point functions of the defect theory, we extract certain structure constants of N = 4 SYM theory using the (bulk) OPE and constrain certain bulkto-boundary couplings using the BOE. The extraction of the former relies on a non-trivial, polynomial k dependence of the one-point functions, which we explicitly demonstrate. In addition, it requires the knowledge of the one-point functions of SU(2) descendant operators, which we likewise explicitly determine.

Comments on D-branes in AdS3
We study D-branes that preserve a diagonal SL(2) affine Lie algebra in string theory on AdS3. We find three classes of solutions, corresponding to the following representations of SL(2): (1) degenerate, finite dimensional representations with half integer spin, (2) principal continuous series, (3) principal discrete series. We solve the bootstrap equations for the vacuum wave functions and disc...
متن کاملNote on the Massive Rarita-Schwinger Field in the AdS/CFT Correspondence
We consider a massive Rarita-Schwinger field on the Anti-de Sitter space and solve the corresponding equations of motion. We show that appropriate boundary terms calculated on-shell give two-point correlation functions for spin-3/2 fields of the conformal field theory on the boundary. The relation between Rarita-Schwinger field masses and conformal dimensions of corresponding operators is estab...
متن کاملGeneralizations of the AdS/CFT correspondence
We consider generalizations of the AdS/CFT correspondence in which probe branes are embedded in gravity backgrounds dual to either conformal or confining gauge theories. These correspond to defect conformal field theories (dCFT) or QCD-like theories with fundamental matter, respectively. Moreover, starting from the dCFT we discuss the deconstruction of intersecting M5-branes and M-theory. We ob...
متن کاملDefect scaling Lee–Yang model from the perturbed DCFT point of view
We analyze the defect scaling Lee–Yang model from the perturbed defect conformal field theory (DCFT) point of view. First the defect Lee–Yang model is solved by calculating its structure constants from the sewing relations. Integrable defect perturbations are identified in conformal defect perturbation theory. Then pure defect flows connecting integrable conformal defects are described. We deve...
متن کاملHigher Loop Bethe Ansatz for Open Spin-Chains in AdS/CFT
We propose a perturbative asymptotic Bethe ansatz (PABA) for open spin-chain systems whose Hamiltonians are given by matrices of anomalous dimension for composite operators, and apply it to two types of composite operators related to two different brane configurations. One is an AdS4 × S2-brane in the bulk AdS5 × S5 which gives rise to a defect conformal field theory (dCFT) in the dual field th...
